Musical History

When I was young, I enjoyed all types of music but was mainly listening to pop and disco music. At the age of 11, I was introduced to a different side of music. The dance sound soon captured my attention and I learned about various styles of underground music.

In the early years I had a basis in hardcore dance music, and went on to learn production and DJ'ing skills culminating in several dubplates, a regular slot on the Breakpirates radio station, and DJ'ing at many house parties.

It wasn't until 2006 that I became interested in the house music scene. I was instantly hooked on the funky bass lines, bright vocals and pounding drums. I set out to take my existing DJ'ing skills to a wider audience and began looking for clubs where I could play and the rest, as they say, as history.

What makes me different?

There are many people in the world who are skilled in the art of beat matching, which to the non-initiated would seem like all you need to become a successful DJ. I however, realise that there is a whole other side to DJ'ing which includes holding a crowd, getting involved in the music community, giving something back and ensuring that you understand and meet the expectations of everybody you work with.

DJ'ing not only allows me seek new ways to become creative on an almost daily basis, but allows me to give back to the community, earn respect of other DJ's and get to see the joy that my music brings to clubbers - the people that make my skills usable.

The future

2008 is set to be an exciting year for me. The year is starting off with an amazing gig at Turnmills in London which is one of the clubs I have wanted to play at for a while and my weekly residency at Loop Bar continues. I have many other gigs lined up around London over the first few months and my first major track is completed and ready to be taken to the masses. Although this is all great, I don't plan to ease up on my assault of the house music scene. Instead I will be stepping things up a notch this year playing more gigs than ever before and producing consistently good records in the studio throughout the year. Here's to the great things 2008 will bring for all of us!
